The Wallabies have this week announced their comeback.

Sitting at the halfway point between last year's British and Irish Lions Tour and next year's 2027 Rugby World Cup at home, the green and gold have began re-engaging with the old Wallabies fan base of yesteryear.

The mums, dads, sons and daughters of the sideline.

Men who wear Hawaiian shirts. Women who wear kaftans. Australians who know every word to the Australia pub rock classic Khe Sanh.

Since the cruelty of Johnny Wilkinson in 2003, these people have been disengaged.

But they haven't disappeared.

The dormant Australian rugby fan has laid waiting, under the surface, like the fault line beneath Pompeii.

And now, in a modern era, they have returned - with the option of drinking low carb beer, as Hahn is announced as the official beer sponsor of the Wallabies

They have kept watch from a distance. Through a Penrith Panthers four-peat, a Matildas world cup tilt, and most recently the Socceroos fever.

They are still here. Waiting for the sweet, sweet bragging rights that comes with test victories.

New Zealand have proven that slumps can happen to anyone. The Europeans lack confidence. The Springboks are rocks or diamonds.

But Hahn and the Wallabies are forever.
