Vintage Shop Sells 2018 Jay Jays Shirt For $80

A vintage shop in Betoota’s Flight Path District has been seen selling a women’s Elmo T-shirt from Jay Jay’s range in 2018. 

The shop named, Stink Vintage, run by 22 year old business owner and disappointing daughter to two doctors, Bree Follin, has owned the store for the past year. Bree who had spent weekends since high school at op shops, decided to turn her love of charity shops into exploiting poor quality clothes for top dollars.

“I’m really good at finding great vintage pieces and then carefully curating them for Stink Vintage” Bree told our reporter. 

“The prices reflect the curation and the experience, vintage shopping is all about the experience.” 

The shop’s top selling products are “vintage” shirts and hoodies, however it’s becoming quite common that a lot of these “vintage” clothes are just graphic t-shirts from Jay Jays. 

The popular Australian retailer which surprisingly is still in business, is known for their affordable clothing which usually has some sort of cartoon or artist printed on it. From Tupac to Batman to watermelons, Jay Jays clothing included everything anyone would ever want 10 years ago. 

Unfortunately for Jay Jay’s their old stock is still heavily circulating around the vintage scene even if the clothing was from 2018. Most recently, an Elmo shirt which isn’t even a loose fit but a proper women’s fit with the short sleeves sold for a whopping $80 over the weekend. 

The shirt which was originally purchased for $24 now has a new life with a cashed up uni student, who will most likely wear it with low rise jeans from 2011 Supre, purchased from a different vintage shop.
