Treasurer Jim Chalmers Denies Allegations That He’s Being A Massive Drop Nuts Over Super Changes

The Federal Treasurer has today moved to ward off speculation that he’s a big old drop nuts, after controversial changes to his ‘controversial’ changes to the way superannuation is taxed.

After talking a big game for a couple of years on the now old, proposed changes to the superannuation taxation regime, the big fella from Logan has folded like a skinny winger taking a hit up off the kick off.

The Treasurer has quietly announced this week that the government will be backing down on the proposed super changes, by indexing amounts from 3 million to 10 million and scrapping the tax on unrealised superannuation gains.

The proposed revamp of the superannuation model was designed to generate a good chunk of tax from people who have over 3 million dollars in their accounts.

Despite only hitting 0.5% of the population, the changes were branded ‘controversial’ by the media and political class (who maybe might make up a few of the 0.5%), for some reason that’s yet to be explained.

However, a large chunk of the revenue that was set to be derived from the new changes will now be forgone, in the name of the average Aussie battler with over 3 million dollars in his superannuation account.

Those changes have since led to allegations that maybe the bloke from Logan is a bit of a drop nuts when it comes to this stuff.

“Mate, what the fuck are Labor doing if they are protecting the interests of cunts with 3 million plus in their superannuation accounts,” said local constituent Cameron Papali’i.

“Yeah taxing unrealised gains isn’t the norm in the tax regime, but if you’ve got over 3 million in a super account, well my heart doesn’t bleed for you.”

“Because you are just trying to dodge the tax system by funnelling millions through your super.”

“So fuck ya.”

“And cheeky from the Prime Minister to get Jimbo to drop nuts when he’s out of the country.”

“Talk about a hospital pass.”

More to come.
