Italian fashion designer and the man behind the Armani empire, Giorgio Armani, has died aged 91.

He is lauded as one of the most iconic designers in human history and the bloke who set the streets of Kuta, Bangkok and Paris alight.

The cause of death is yet to be revealed.

The Milan-based designer was best known for his Haute Couture line, which expanded into music, sport, luxury hotels and street hawkers.

Worn by tourists all around the world, the Armani brand has become synonymous with knock off luxury.

One local Betoota Heights man and regular Armani wearer, Aaron (AJ) Jenkins explained what the loss meant to him.

“Oh fuck, the dude who made all the sunnies and bags and shit,” said Jenkins.

“That’s sad as bro.”

“My missus loves all my Armani kit,” continued the man who’s made double digit trips to the Indonesian island of Bali.

“I remembered my first ever pair of Armani’s bro. Haggled the guy down to 15 bucks aye.”

“Was an awesome win.”

“Anyway, sad for the guy I guess. I’ll rock my sunnies today in tribute.”

King Giorgio as he was known by many will be sorely missed.
