Swiftie English Teacher Really Revelling In The New Shakespearean References

A local Betoota Heights teacher has kicked off Term 4 with a bang, it can be confirmed this week.

Ashley Morrison (29) has been going all out for the final school block of the year, after the release of a new, ‘brilliant body of work.’

According to students at Betoota Heights High, Ms Wilson has been absolutely pumping the new Taylor Swift album.

However, while some might allege the repeat doses of Life of A Showgirl are indulgent, Ashley says it’s purely for the student’s benefit.

“The Fate of Ophelia is a brilliant modern day piece of literary work actually,” said Ashley.

“And it’s a brilliant way of teaching the kids to love Shakespeare.”

The Fate of Ophelia, is the lead track on the new album, and references the character of Ophelia from Big Willy’s classic hit Hamlet.

For those who weren’t too fussed on olde English literature back at school, Ophelia is a rather complex character who drowns after apparently going mad, because of the fucked things that happened to her.

Previously seen as a meek and weak character, over the recent decades Ophelia has pivoted to being more of a complex individual who is more of a reflection of the society she was forced to endure.

Reimagined in the form of a 21st century musical superstar, Taylor has brought her back to life as a representation of her own being – who is this time saved by a hunky NFL Tight End.

Nearly two decades on from her first major Shakespearean reference (Romeo and Juliet), it’s a move that has plenty of English teachers like Ashley revelling in it.

“Yeah Fahrenheit 451 can take a week off,” laughed Ashley.

“It’s all Tay Tay for the next little while.”

More to come.
