In some exciting news for residents of the nation’s 2nd worst city, the new Barangaroo developments are almost ready to go.

The NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian confirmed that lockout laws will be partially lifted for the CBD and Oxford Street from the 14th of January next year.

Speaking to reporters this morning, the Premier confirmed the controversial lockout laws that have crippled the already sterilised city would be lifted next year – everywhere except for Kings Cross of course.

“Yep, we are almost good to go down at Barangaroo, so we are going to be lifting the lockout laws so they can hit the ground running,” explained the excited Premier a short time after getting off the phone with the least successful Packer figurehead.

“So we need to lift these laws to ensure they don’t have issues with red tape and so on,” he said.

“I’m not sure what we are doing regarding the covering up of reporting of violent incidents around the new Crown Casino and the CBD and Oxford Street in general, so hold tight and we’ll get you the detail on that soon.”

Berejiklian then burst into laughter after fielding a question about why the government wasn’t lifting the lockouts for the Kings Cross area.

“You are not serious are you,” laughed the Premier of The Developer’s Republic of Sydney before walking off.
