THE SEATTLE Sea Hawks have signed the Australian rugby league MVP to a 12-month rookie contract.
“I think pads are only for periods,” says Mr Hayne.
Jarryd Hayne is considered one of the best ever players of his native game.
But, he wants to play without pads or a helmet.
“Americans are a bit soft.”
The decision to sign Hayne will hopefully prove genius when the Hawks face off against the Carolina Panthers on October 26.
