Nerds right around the world are grieving today, following the news that, 95-year-old comic book writer is no longer alive.

Stan Lee, the writer behind Spider-Man, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Panther, the Avengers, the X-Men and many many more iconic comic book superheroes, has died this morning, aged 95.

Even though he had a pretty good run, retiring just five off a ton, and made millions of dollars through his much loved storytelling, his loyalists are distraught with the news that he is no longer alive.

“It’s so sad” says one local nerd, Ash Reddy (35), who has arrived at work wearing a black arm band today, in tribute to the late comic book tycoon.

“He was such an amazing mind. Goddamit why did he have to die”

The recently deceased meganerd’s creations have been made even more popular over the past decade with the release of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the highest-grossing film franchise of all time.

However, Ash is still unconsolable.

“It’s the end of a legacy, man.”

“I just wish celebrities could live forever”

Over 20 of Stan Lee’s films have earned more than $US6.2 billion ($8.2 billion) at the box office.

This year’s release of Avengers: Infinity War broke the record for the highest opening week, raking in $831 million worldwide.
