In some heartbreaking news, it can confirmed that your sibling no longer has safe place to shop now that the Reject Shop will be changing its name for the first time in 44 years.

The Reject Shop has long been a favourite go to destination for younger siblings since it  first opened its doors in 1981, as a lone reject shop in Melbourne.

With 375 store locations spread across the nation, siblings from Sydney to Toowoomba were able to feel comfortable looking for cheap goods in a shop that didn’t discriminate.

However, the Reject Shop will soon be known as ‘Dollarama’, following its acquisition by Canadian company Dollarama last month.

Nation’s older siblings are also said to be devastated by this news, stating that even though the shop will be offering the same wares, it’s still not the same.

The Advocate spoke to local older sister Sarah Ploughmann, who reveals she’s quite distraught on behalf of her little sister.

“I used to point to the Reject Shop and say ‘look Kelsey, that’s where you shop.’”

“I’m sad I won’t be able to do that anymore.”
