A man who is one of those guys that has to be first to stand up once the plane lands, says the 15 minutes with his head on an angle jammed under the overhead compartment waiting for the planes doors to open, is totally worth it.

George Simpson (51), is proud of the amount of time he has saved at the sake of his necks comfort.

“Every plane journey I take, I make sure I’m first to get up, saves me a few seconds every time”

“At this point I’ve probably saved 18 minutes all together!” explained George, currently at a departure gate ready to be first in line during his flights boarding.

While many passengers prefer to wait until someone in front of them moves, George says he enjoys the thrill of the stand.

“I like to assert dominance early, the second those seatbelt signs turn off I’m up.” said George.

Despite repeatedly hitting his head on the overhead compartment half a dozen times and getting elbowed by flight attendants trying to take peoples rubbish, George insists it’s all part of the process.

When asked why he doesn’t just relax and wait like everyone else, George scoffed and said “That’s time waster talk… I have places to be”

George, like many men his age, takes huge pride in his ability to deboard a plane before anyone else.
