A club legend has delivered a fearsome spray this afternoon, reminding his team to keep their heads in the game or risk being kicked out of the finals.

Facing up against the Boulia Bulls in the 3rd grade Channel Country semi-final, captain/coach for the Betoota Dolphins Norths side Brock Hargraves has reportedly attempted to steady a sinking ship, after a disastrous opening few minutes of the match.

Down 16-0, witnesses on the sidelines at Betoota No.2 Sports Oval say the animated captain could be heard screaming at his teammates, as they dawdled under the goal posts following the third conceded try of the game.

“Boys they’re playing dirty and getting in our faces, we’ve just gotta play our game, OUR game boys,” squealed Brock, who had been the instigator of at least three scuffles since kick-off.

“Yeah they’ve turned up for it, but we need to match their energy, match their energy aye!”

A perennial pest, who’s ability to stir up fights both on and off the field landed him the role of team captain, Brock’s speech to his team of hungover mates appeared to fall on deaf ears, including his own.

“We gotta play smart footy and complete our sets, it’s about doing the little things right boys!”

“Stick to our game and nothing silly, nothing silly boys!”

Shortly after reminding his team of the value of high set completions, it’s reported Brock attempted a solo chip n’ chase off the 2nd tackle, only to watch a talented Boulia fullback score another runaway try.

Clutching his head in his hands and nursing a limp from his own attempted heroics, Brock once again fired up, this time at his own team support staff, as he jogged back in towards his own try line.

“Get the waters out here, get em’ out here!”

“We need to switch on, that means ALL of us…”

In final scores, Boulia Bulls defeated the Dolphins 42 – 4 and will play Windorah next week for the Wally Lewis Commemorative Shield.
