“Joy Division Has Nazi Connotations” Says SuSSan

Federal Opposition leader SuSSan Ley has this week emerged from the depths of irrelevance by demanding that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese apologise for wearing a T-shirt that references one of the biggest rock bands in the history of music.

This comes after Prime Minister disembarked from the Royal Australian Air Force Airbus last week, after spending more than a day in the air after his historic meeting with President Trump at the White House.

He was photographed wearing suit slacks and a Joy Division t-shirt, which is pretty standard attire for a Gen-X white man from Sydney’s inner-west.

It only took SuSSan Ley a week to tap into the online culture wars that Australia’s online far-right had waged over the Prime Minister’s wardrobe choices.. Yesterday she took it to the floor of Parliament House in her capacity as the leader of the weakest Federal Opposition since the WW2.

In what can only be described as the Liberal Party’s attempt at late-2010s woke purity testing, SuSSan Ley has made one of the greatest stretches in modern cancel culture by suggesting that the 50-year-old British post-punk band ‘Joy Division’ should be erased from history because they are “steeped in anti-Semitism”.

SuSSAn Ley was references the fact that the name ‘Joy Division’ actually has ironically dark origins, as it is a little-known reference to the wing of a Nazi concentration camp where female detainees were trafficked in sexual slavery for German soldiers.

After the Prime Minister’s historic visit to Washington, which saw a succesful meeting with Donald Trump and the signing of a landmark critical minerals deal, SuSSan Ley says that all of the bipartisan praised currently being heaped on Albanese is now for nothing – after this atrocious gaffe.

SuSSan Ley said Australians “expect their Prime Minister to show judgment, respect and leadership” but have “got the opposite” from Mr Albanese.

This is a bold take from an Opposition Leader who has admitted to changing her first name to add an extra ‘S’ – because she wanted to have two S’s.

This is obviously extremely problematic given the fact that SuSSan Ley’s name is a clear reference to the major paramilitary organisation that served Adolf Hitler, known as The Schutzstaffel – or SS – who were the most feared Nazi officers in German-occupied Europe during World War II, and were tasked with actually founding the concentration camps in which the Joy Division was located.
