Hushed Silence Falls Over Trivia Team As Mate Who Convinced Everyone To Change Answer Gets It Wrong

A popular saying goes that the universe will keep teaching you the same lesson until you finally learn it and it turns out the same rule applies to a certain local friendship group, who, despite countless weekly reminders, still haven’t grasped the golden rule of trivia night: never, under any circumstances, change the first answer you put down.

The friendship group in question, who go by the trivia name ‘I wish this microphone was a dick’ may have arrived at the Lord Smelson Hotel in Betoota Ponds as friends, but they certainly didn’t leave as one, with one question dismantling the entire fabric of their friendship.

And why?

Well, because one mate decided he quite confidently knew the answer [he didn’t].

“No Bob Marley wrote ‘Be Happy’, I’m certain of it”, Ravi had said, “I swear on my life it’s him.”

Tim said it was actually Bobby McFerrin. But Ravi was insistent.

“No, no it’s Bob Marley, I’m certain.”

“It’s definitely him.”

Not only was Bob McFerrin actually the correct answer, but ‘I wish this microphone was a dick’ also found themselves losing by just one point…to a team called ‘Quiz my pants.’

More to come.
