Snail With Two Investment Shells Says Maybe Slugs Could Afford One If They Stopped Eating Out So Much

It appears that humans aren’t the only creature that are currently dealing with a housing crisis, as slugs are reportedly ‘fed up’ with entitled snails taking all the shells, and leaving them out to dry.

This comes as ethnologists are starting to notice an uptick in snails hoarding multiple shells, which makes no evolutionary sense given it doesn’t offer additional protection and security.

Elderly snails, who have shrunk with age, have also been found guilty of refusing to downsize their shells, even when it begins to affect the quality of their life.

Speaking to ethologist, Dr. Laura Kade, The Advocate learns that slugs didn’t actually evolve from snails, as once thought, but were unable to get shells due to unavailability.

“There’s been a lot of misinformation about slugs being ‘evolved’ from snails to not have that additional protection as it gives them more flexibility and mobility”, says Dr. Laure Kade, “but we now know that was just pro snail propaganda.”

“The snails have been hoarding shells for decades and passing them down exclusively to their offspring.”

However, snails have refused this claim, stating that the reason they were able to get shells in the first place is because they worked hard, pulled themselves up by the bootstraps, and didn’t waste resources on getting the latest apple and travelling from leaf to leaf, like those lazy slugs do.

More to come.
