It can be confirmed that lesbians and hospo workers have quite a few overlapping similarities, including a shared love of patchwork tattoos, wearing Doc Martens, and rooting everyone within their immediate circle.

Speaking to the manager of ‘The Meathouse’, Betoota Ponds biggest gastro pub, The Advocate discovers more about this interesting phenomenon.

“Part of the perks of working in hospo is that you get to root everyone”, explains Oscar Loosemore, 28, “like right now, I’m rooting Becky, Tasmin and Georgia.”

“It’s all very harmonious though”, he adds, with a rue smile, “and if things start to get a bit rocky, I just won’t schedule them on my shift.”

Our reporter discovers Tasmin is also rooting the head cook Ash, and that Georgia is reportedly getting quite cosy with the new hire Josh.

Interestingly , the manager at a neighbouring queer bar, ‘Sissy Fuss’ echoes a similar statement – but with both the staff, and clientele.

“Oh, it’s an absolute shitshow, everyone’s just getting with everyone”, laughs Dana Fitzgerald, 25, “I can’t keep up!”

More to come.
