It can be confirmed that having an out-of-town wedding in the middle of the week is an affordable and convenient alternative to a weekend wedding, as long as you’re not one of the guests.
One couple who have managed to find this out are Tom and June from Indooripilly, who reveal that they managed to save a whopping $ 5,000 by opting for a mid-week wedding.
The venue, located a mere four hours out of town, is said to have caught June’s eye straight away, as she’d always wanted to have a barn wedding in a tiny religious town far away from civilisation.
“I don’t know why more people don’t have Wednesday weddings, it’s so much cheaper”, says June, who works for herself selling mosaic butterfly art on Etsy, “there’s really no need for a lavish weekend wedding.”
Tom and June have invited approximately fifty people to the wedding, who will now have to take a day off work for the privilege of doing so.
When asked how guests would make the long drive home after consuming so much alcohol, June just laughs and says that shouldn’t be a problem, as it will be a dry wedding.
“$3000 for a bar tab. You’re joking!”
“People should be coming to a wedding to see a couple declare their eternal love, not to get drunk.”
More to come.
