In an endless news cycle of doom and gloom The Advocate is delighted to reveal that a hanging golden pothos indoor plant is absolutely thriving in this humble, self described, hole in the wall cafe known as ‘The Little Red Rocket.’
The owner, Bridget Wallace says what started as a few seedlings has now resulted in numerous vines spreading across the entire roof, like a beautiful tentacled monster.
“We just hung the thing up and forgot about it, now it’s our pride and joy. Our little mascot”, beams Bridget, “while we were focussed on the operational side of the cafe, ordering beans and fresh produce for our toasties, we hadn’t even noticed in the background that our pothos was totally going off.”
Bridget says the Instagram friendly aesthetics now means she can justify selling $17 cheese toasties.
“We’ve had plenty more foot traffic once he got big. Turns out people are super into plants”, says Bridget, “in fact, as long as the cafe looks pretty and the food looks good on camera, it doesn’t really matter what the service is like.
Bridget says she’s thinking of getting a fake Japanese blossom tree put in, to really make the business boom.
More to come.
