A local footy fan has today received a warm hug of affirmation from his significant other.

Max Kelso, a 28-year-old man from Betoota Grove, said he was relieved and somewhat surprised to hear how keen his fiancée was to watch the upcoming British & Irish Lions Tour to Australia.

“Yeah, Chelsea told me she’s quite excited for The Tour,” laughed Max, who will likely consume every single moment of footy over the next few weeks, live and loud.

“I mean she normally gets around the big games for a bit of sport, but she was asking me today when the Tahs game is…”

“And look, don’t get me wrong, I’m absolutely not complaining, but I was wondering what was going on,” said the man whose Stan Sport is about to cop an absolute pummelling over the next few weeks.

A source with intimate knowledge of the situation, aka Chelsea, sat down with The Advocate to explain the genesis of her heightened love for the game they play in heaven.

“I’m just a big fan of footy,” laughed Chelsea.

When pressed on allegations that hot boy Joseph Suaalii may be behind her recent peak in fandom, Chelsea giggled.

“Maybeeeeeeeeee,” she laughed.

“I’ve forgiven him for what he did to my boy Reece.”

“And how could you stay mad after seeing the new ad…”

“Goodness me.”

“So yeah, in summary, I’m more than happy to indulge in The Lions Tour.”

“And look, there’s plenty of other tall glasses of water getting around.”

“Fraser (McReight) and his curly locks are pretty cute.”

“As is Tom Wright.”

“There’s some real talent out there, that’s for sure. Up the Wallabies.”

When pressed on the rugby shows and archival matches available on Stan for the Tour, Chelsea admitted she might leave that stuff to Max.
