A Gen-Z girl has had her entire world turned upside down after watching a full movie without checking her phone once.
The groundbreaking event occurred earlier this week when Ainsley Phillips (19) decided to put on one of those vintage movies from the 2000s that her dad keeps yapping on about.
“At first I was mainly just relieved that the movie was in colour, but after a while I found myself getting sucked into the whole story” explained the teen who has shrugged off most movie suggestions with the excuse that “long form content just isn’t for me”
Despite the 2000s cult classic movie not having a split screen of ASMR knife cutting or subway surfer gameplay, Ainsley was somehow able to get through her first ever uninterrupted hour of media with ease.
“It didn’t even occur to me that I hadn’t checked IG that whole hour”
By the third act of the movie, Ainsley was genuinely overwhelmed with the crazy new concepts of character development and moral lessons that were being relayed through the medium of film.
“It didn’t occur to me that content- I mean, a movie, could bring out that much emotion” Ainsley said, who’s only really ever been emotionally invested in some sort of TikTok influencer drama.
In the days since, Ainsley has reportedly been “processing” the film the same and the ramifications it has had for the rest of his life.
“Wait, so there’s more of these out there???” Ainsley said.
