Former Millennial Goth Still Thinks About Her Every Halloween

WE ARE THE WEIRDOS, MISTER: A local millennial woman has once again found herself thinking about American actress Fairuza Balk this spooky season.

Having grown up on such classics as The Waterboy, The Craft, and Almost Famous, Sophie Banks recalls being inexplicably drawn to the gravelly voiced actress who was almost unnervingly good at playing the unhinged.

Whilst beloved Halloween staples such as Hocus Pocus and Practical Magic hold a dear place in her heart, Sophie says watching The Craft as a moody, misunderstood teenager felt like a borderline religious experience, second only to the sexual awakening she had watching her sister’s copy of ‘Cruel Intentions’ when she was thirteen.

Sophie says The Craft was the movie that saw Fairuza’s chops as an unhinged psycho truly shine, forever cementing a place in the heart of goth millennials world wide.

“People like to call Winona Ryder the goth it chick of the 90s, but for me, it was always Fairuza”, says Sophie, “my Nancy Downs…my Vicki Vallencourt.”

“Nobody does crazy hot like her. Nobody.”

More to come.
