A local woman has fronted the media in a tell-all interview admitting that she took paracetamol while she was pregnant with her son, who is one of those guys that constantly has 16 niche Wikipedia tabs up on his phone browser.

Sandra Yule (61), who gave birth to her eldest son in 1996, says that while she admits the warning signs were there the whole time, she had always decided to ignore them.

“If I knew taking paracetamol was going to turn him into one of those men that’s constantly reading rogue Wikipedia articles about historical events, I would have steered clear of them,” said a distraught Sandra.

According to her, things started off innocently enough. “He was reading about ancient Egypt when he was 10. Then it was the entire history of the Byzantine Empire when he was 14. By 18 he was in so deep he started getting into Vatican history.”

Friends of her son, Daniel (29) , say his behaviour has escalated in recent years. He now has multiple “eras” of obsession: shipwrecks, 1920’s Australian prime ministers, Cuban involvement in the Angolan civil war, minor European football club rivalries, the hisotry of Pringles chips, and even the development of bubbler models in Australian public parks.

“Every time you ask him a question, it somehow comes back to a rogue Wikipedia fact he read at 3am” Sandra sighed.

“Other mums get to say their son’s a lawyer or a tradie.”

“Mine just knows what year Yugoslavia hosted the Winter Olympics”
