Distressed Liberal Voter Feels Forgotten By The Media And Politicians After Nobody Gives A Fuck About This Super Tax

Proud Liberal voter, William Orange (70), is starting to feel like the Australian media landscape has changed. And it’s not for the better.

On top of this, he’s also starting to think that his wants and needs are no longer a top priority in Federal Parliament.

This is a distressing feeling, after spending the last 50 years of his life as the main character of Australian politics.

William strongly believes he has accrued his multimillion dollar nest egg through hard work and sacrifice. And people want to take that from him because they are lazy and jealous.

Don’t get him started on ‘negative gearing’ – because he had already bought a home and a beach house before those tax concessions for property investors.

And, sure, he was lucky enough to get a free university education, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t do it tough.

“Do you know the cash rate was at 17.5%? for four weeks in 1990” he scowls.

“I don’t think the younger generations can appreciate how hard it was to pay off an $80,000 family home when met with those kind of gruelling economic circumstances”

“I mean, they can’t even save up enough for a deposit. Imagine how they’d fare with actual hardship!”

“It’s clear they don’t even want to succeed. I mean just look at this renewables rubbish. They want to turn the lights out on themselves because the woke left have convinced them that coal makes the weather bad”

However, William is starting to get a sneaking suspicion that his lectures on morality and common sense are now longer shared by the vast majority of the political class. Case in point, this new super tax that has been proposed by ‘that bastard Jim Chalmers’.

“Any other government would have been booted the moment they brought up something this ludicrous and unfair” he says.

But, it’s becoming clear to him that the vast majority of the population don’t give a fuck about his woes anymore.

“So what if I want to redirect the profits of my shares and property portfolios into my super account. That’s my god given right. And now I’m hearing people want to have the family home added to the means tests for the pension. I’ve worked my entire life, I deserve any money the government decides to give me for no reason”

Maybe it’s the changing demographics, maybe it’s the fact that the newspapers that have championed his political beliefs for 100 years have left themselves become irrelevant in a new media landscape – whatever the cause, William says voters have forgotten who the real bludgers are.

“People on welfare and refugees” he says, while overlooking the Pacific Ocean from his 8 bedroom Californian bungalow, that two people live in.

“That’s where we need to take the scalpel to. These people refuse to work, and most of them live a better life than me.”
