A French Quarter advertising agency is being praised today for delivering a new television commercial campaign that doesn’t use ‘Bad Guy’ By US pop phenomenon Billie Eilish at any point.

Found on fabled advertising strip along Rue de Autofellatio, local agency Colensa Longbeard Häsbaad BO has a long list of blue-chip clients.

Their latest campaign to hit screen around our cosmopolitan desert outpost was for Ranbuild Sheds, purveyors of quality shedding.

Viewers have told The Advocate that the often comical and warm-hearted Ranbuild man, who features in all of Ranbuild’s ads, breaks up the monotony of boring TV ads that straddle the nation’s favourite TV programmes like Gina Rinehart’s thighs straddle her favourite polo pony.

But what really sets this ad apart from the rest is that it doesn’t use the song which won Triple J’s Hottest 100 this year, something that every single other ad on TV uses at the moment.

But it almost wasn’t to be the case, said Colensa Longbeard Häsbaad BO’s creative director, Gregory Poon.

“We had ‘Bad Guy’ in the TVC until the last cut,” he said.

“Then we thought, why pay all this money for a song that sounds like greening out feels when we could just pay some wedding band down the road to strum their guitars and slap their drums while shouting ‘Ranbuild’ into a microphone half a dozen times,”

“So we did the latter and now we’re booking premium economy seats to Cannes. Just goes to show, guys. Believe in yourself and always stay true to the brand.”

More to come.
