A local man that was heavily involved in Scouts deep into his teen years has an unhealthy respect for all forms of authority, unsurprisingly.

Jarvis Rose (28), who drives a Volvo with a retro “Cops Are Tops” bumper sticker, has credited his days in the Scouts as the most important years of his life.

“I wouldn’t be who I am without Scouts Australia, started as a Joey when i was 5 and had the privilege of making it all the way to being a Rover Scout when I was 19!” Jarvis explained.

“I still stay in touch with my old Scout leader and even give him a call when I need life advice”

Jarvis, who now works as a ranger at a national park, admits he’s a fan of all things authority.

“Yep, love the police, love the army, respect whatever government is in power, I even love parking inspectors” said Jarvis.

He claims to have never once jaywalked, even at 3am on a completely empty street.

Jarvis insists on calling police officers “sir” or “miss” regardless of their age or rank.

Colleagues say he has a framed certificate from Scouts next to a framed photo of him shaking hands with former prime minster Tony Abbott.

When questioned about protests, Jarvis said they’re completely irresponsible.

“Not only are they dangerous, they’re disrespectful to our brave men and women in blue” he explained.

Friends admit they stopped inviting him out because he once tried to report them for drinking in a park after 10pm. While he was with them.
