US President Donald Trump has accused the Ukrainian Government of meddling in the next months midterm elections.

Speaking to the press aboard Air Force One today, Trump accused Ukraine of election interference by bombing bot farms in Russia earlier this week, leading to a sharp decrease social media activity worldwide.

"They are gonna pay," Trump said.

"They've gone too far this time. We are very unhappy with them and unfortunately, there's gonna have to be consequences. They are trying to alter the outcome of the midterms, we can't have that. It's very bad."

Meta reported an inexplicable 80pc decline in interactions shortly after the first Ukrainian missile burst through the roof of a Yandex data centre southwest of Moscow.

Pages and profiles associated with various political movements such as MAGA, One Nation and the AfD in Germany all reported a period of very much below average engagement. Closer to home, multiple One Nation posts on Meta platform languished with interactions in the low hundreds in the hours after the Ukrainian strikes. Only after Yandex restored functionality a few hours later did the slack pick up.

Nonetheless, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has denied meddling in the upcoming mid-terms and wishes President Trump luck.

More to come.
