GO DOWNNN WITH THISSS SHIPPPP! Triple J are reportedly receiving mounting pressure from listeners, South Australians, and plenty of bogans who don't listen to Triple J, to stop fucking around with the insurance-ad-sounding industry plants and have a real fucken go.

Their demands are simple: Triple J must invite Adelaide band Bad Dreems into their studios, and let them cover the iconic 2003 folk-pop ballad "White Flag" by English singer-songwriter Dido for their famous 'Like A Version' cover song segment.

The Betoota Advocate is today joining this chorus.

This comes off the back of their widely praised 5th album 'Ultra Dundee' which was released independently on the eve of the South Australian election.

As the nation grapples with grievance-charged cultural frustrations caused by populist politics - and the flattening of Australian art caused by a poisonous globalised social media algorithm - Ultra Dundee has received as a very welcome reminder of what Australian men with guitars are capable of.

The public broadcaster themselves have described the beer-soaked rock album as an 'artistic triumph' and 'watershed moment' - and it has perhaps hit our nation's bogan youth a lot harder after years spent stuck in the cultural wilderness of generalised TikTok-friendly choruses that are devoid of any signs of Australian scene.

With the footy clubs and suburban hotels of Australia now experiencing a major pub rock renaissance thanks to both Amyl and Bad Dreems - Triple J is now being expected to acknowledge the emergence of these very real cultural fault-lines that aren't visible to anyone who relies on an iPhone screen to gauge public sentiment.

While 'Dido - White Flag' is the most popular suggestion for the Bad Dreems treatment, other songs include Delta Goodrem - Innocent Eyes... or anything by Savage Garden.

Bad Dreems has previously excelled in the Like A Version format, when they overed the Warumpi Band’s iconic anthem "Blackfella/Whitefella" in 2019, with Peter Garrett, Emily Wurramara, and Mambali on vocals.

With the band announcing an indefinite hiatus after this exhaustive 5th album, this may be Triple Js last chance to make things right.
