The Federal Treasurer has today shown his inner Logan boy, after learning some heartening news.
Jim ‘Chee Hoo’ Chalmers MP, the Member for the electorate of Rankin deep in Brisbane’s southside, has passed a stern message on to the Reserve Bank of Australia: ‘Tell them boys relax’.
His comments come after ‘stunning’ inflation data was announced, revealing the rate had dropped from 2.4 to 2.1%.
That magic number means the RBA should adjust their magic numbers and drop interest rates at their next meeting.
However, given their history of running their own race, a rate cut is anything but a certainty.
“I want them to know that their decisions will not be consequence free” Chee Hoo Chalmers told The Advocate today.
“They are the ones who get to make the decision to cut rates, and they are the ones who get the praise when they do. But if they don’t, it all falls on me. So I take it personally. My question to the RBA is who really out on the field?”
This isn’t the first time the Federal Treasurer has ditched his more Parliament-friendly conduct, and snapped back into how they speak in the Woodz.
“Look, I know they’ve got their inflation data, and their unemployment date, and their CPIs and all sorts of acronyms” he continued.
“But uso I don’t wanna hear no chat. Tell ’em boys relax”
“The RBA can talk that talk, but talk is cheap”
“So they can talk that talk ’til it’s Uber Eats“
“Which is when I pull up to their door with the fucken beef”
The Betoota Advocate asked Chee Hoo Chalmers how he plans to respond to the inevitable media outrage from NewsCorp and Channel 9 when their journalists eventually translate is Logan terminology and suddenly realise he’s making threats towards the Reserve Bank.
“Tell ’em boys go stick to footy” he said.
The Treasurer continued on his rant about the biased media coverage of his term as Treasurer, explaining that he’s more than happy to tell the reporters what he thinks of them to their face.
“Never had a bally we rock up in hoodies”
“Like who wanna dance? My uso come boogie”
