Chris Manning, a senior strategist at one of Betoota’s more traditional advertising agencies, KHJM/WP, has found himself in some hot and embarrassing water this morning after one keen-eyed commenter questioned why his thought piece “If AI Can Write Your Strategy, You Don’t Have One”, was littered with American spellings.
Quick to defend himself, Manning explained that chat [sic] must have Americanised the spelling when he asked it to proof read the article.
However, according to multiple sources the more likely explanation is that the matcha enthusiast got chatGPT to write it for him and he didn’t realise you had to Australianise it.
“Dude’s never had an original thought in his life, so the fact that he’s now writing 1000 word thought pieces on the industry is comical”
As the majority of savvy chatGPT users know, if you’re ever going to pass off AI writing as your own, you need to at least change the spelling to reflect the right country.
It’s believed Manning has started posting these ‘thought pieces’ in an attempt to up his profile as he looks to jump ship from a shrinking and sinking KHJM/WP.
This attempt is not lost on the few agencies hiring at the moment, however they’ve said to The Advocate that if Mr. Manning thinks some lazy thought pieces are going to hide the fact that his strategies are “dog shit” then he should think again.
More to come.
