One Nation leader Barnaby Joyce has moonwalked away from professional and personal responsibility this week after lesser media outlets accused him of canoodling with neo-Nazis inside the confines of the exclusive Canberra Casino ONYX Sports Bar.
"They just seemed like normal blokes," Joyce told The Advocate. "That's what makes it so scary."
Reporting from other edges of the nation's lazy Susan of journalism describes it as a formal meeting between Joyce and bigwigs in Australia's Nazi movement. Joyce told The Advocate it was anything but.
"Mate, I was just having a quiet drink, as we all do, with a mate, in the casino at a reasonable hour, on a school night, and these blokes, dressed head to toe in black. Black sandshoes, pants, jackets, caps, sunnies and balaclavas. You'd think they wouldn't let them into a casino dressed like that," Joyce added.
"And then all of a sudden, I'm surrounded by them. They're talking about creating an ethno-state here, bloody Anglo-Saxons there. I'm thinking, Christ alive, I'm absolutely full to the gills with piss here and I've gotta shake these blokes."
During this alleged formal meeting on the floor of Canberra Casino, Joyce said he was able to escape moments after he broke wind, causing many of the Nazis to take a few steps back.
"I said, 'Sorry boys, I ate a whole 625g packet of uncooked Latina Fresh beef ravioli last night when I got back to the Airbnb and it's turned my guts into Fromelles. Don't ever do it,' and they scattered."
"Seriously, they seemed so normal. But when you speak to them, you quickly learn that they are fucked in the head."
