Liberal leader Angus Taylor has made a fresh pitch to the nation's disenfranchised fringe this week by telling voters his new immigration policy will make Pauline Hanson look like Sarah Hanson-Young.
In Sydney today, Taylor revealed a Coalition government would slash temporary visa holders by 650,000, to just 100,000 visas for their first two years of government.
"There will be some changes," Taylor told reporters.
"We have listened to Australians and they want a teal version of One Nation, which I guess we are. Actually, does that work? Hold on. Is Sarah Hanson-Young a teal? She's a what? A Greenie? Bloody hell, they're pretty much the same these days. Same amount of investment properties, anyway.
"But, ah, yeah, we've been listening and this policy is a reflection of that. Now, we understand people in the business community, they've been whipped to shit by this Albanese Government. Payday super, bloody no credit cards with the ATO, no more surcharges, paying wages on time and correctly. the list goes on.
"So yes, we will be easing the burden on the business community by cutting immigration in a way where we have useful people, like Irish nurses and stuff, they'll be front of the queue. British charity muggers, sorry guys, dead last. Well, not dead last. They'll be the Bangladeshis doing their third Cert III in basketweaving at some sham college. They'll be last. Print that, that's what they'll wanna hear.
"So yeah, welcome to the New Coalition. We'll make One Nation look like the pack of lunatics they've always been."
More to come.
