A local Sydney woman with a spare hour up her sleeve has decided to spend it on a really slow Sydney light rail.

"It's not often I have nowhere to be and a bunch of spare time!" said a chirpy Lucy Beckett (25) who was already 20 minutes into her trip from Dulwich Hill to the city.

"These slow scenic tours of Sydney really are worth it, you forget they're even available most of the time"

Lucy reportedly boarded the L1 with the relaxed confidence of someone who had already accepted she would not be checking her phone for arrival updates.

According to Lucy, the light rail offered her a unique opportunity to reflect on her life, catch up on some reading, and watch multiple joggers overtake the vehicle at intersections.

At one point, an Uber Eats rider made eye contact with her while cruising past at a comfortable pace.

"I could've walked parts of this faster, but that would've ruined the point" she said, gazing thoughtfully out the window as the tram politely waited at a red light with no traffic.

Transport experts say the Sydney light rail is best enjoyed when treated less like a mode of transport and more like a scenic experience.

"You have to surrender to it" explained one commuter.

"Once you accept you're not in a rush, it's actually quite beautiful."

Currently Lucy is still calmly progressing through the CBD.
