In performing arts news, a bus full of Rugba Leeg players have been dropped off at the National Institute for Dramatic Arts this morning as the Melbourne Storm begin their final preparations for their 2025 Grand Final.
At 8:42am this morning, Kensington locals confirmed that a Murrays transit coach was seen driving east along Anzac Parade, after picking up the Storm from Sydney airport.
It’s believed instead of taking the team straight to the team hotel out at Sydney Olympic Park, 5-time** premiership winning coach Craig Bellamy decided to enroll his players into a last minute short acting course, at Australia’s premier acting school.
Given the school is the factory for award winning actors such as Toni Collette, Cate Blanchett and the star of HBO’s Succession, Sarah Snook, it’s understood Bellamy and his support staff thought a 6-hour short course might help the team sharpen their skills in milking penalties.
Speaking to Baz Gibson, the Storm’s Head of Performing Arts, today’s course is expected to be a little tune up before their Sunday game against the Broncos.
“We’ve been working with the Victorian College of the Arts all year, but the key to our success is keeping every pre-game routine the same so we’ve linked up with NIDA today,” said Gibson.
“Today we’re starting with an hour of theatre sports to loosen them up a bit, and then rolling into a two hour session on how to leverage the Stanislavski system when taking a dive on the field. We know the Broncos will be throwing lots of block plays at our halves, so it’s vital that our smaller guys know how to really milk the obstruction.”
“You know, sell it with the whole body! Go full method acting, arms high in the air, the dramatic collapse and look of shock and awe, it’ll be Logie award winning stuff.”
