Origin Players Prepare To Remember What They’ve Talked About, Dig Deep, Back Themselves

The teams for State of Origin Game 2 have been confirmed an hour before kick-off, with no changes for either side ahead of the big clash at ANZ Stadium.

However, the boys are trying a different approach this round. With Queensland players preparing to remember what they’ve talked about, dig deep, and remembering to back themselves.

The preparation for the Queensland Maroons has been quite different this time around as, the team is lucky enough to name an unchanged 17, with Billy Slater passing his final fitness test to return at fullback in what is his final Origin series before representative retirement.

Kalyn Ponga has also been confirmed as the fourth option on the bench, meaning Tim Glasby drops out of the side.

The Blues, on the other hand, have confirmed Matt Prior will start in place of the injured Reagan Campbell-Gillard, who was left out of the 17 last Saturday night when coach Brad Fittler named his team.

It is not yet known is the Blues will also remember to stick to what they’ve talked about, dig deep, and remembering to back themselves – but if they do – it could be quite a match of State Of Origin Football on this awkward and cold Sunday evening.
