In some kind of positive news (depending on how you look at it) going thirds in a slab and polishing it in the park has been confirmed as a completely acceptable past time.
This comes as the price of seemingly everything goes up, with Australians now finding crafty ways to get pissed without paying $18 for a pint.
The idea of splitting a slab certainly isn’t new but its popularity has increased massively as per its economic charm.
The Advocate spoke with economical piss sinker Jason Anderson to better understand the story.
“Picture this, eight cold cans and two of your best mates sittin right in front of ya”
“Sun pouring down and a soccer ball for when the conversation gets stale”
“And all for the price of 1 lousy pint,” he said gleefully.
As Senator David Pocock recently pointed out, beer drinkers in Australia are paying more tax than the gas companies pay in the Petroleum Resource Rent Tax.
But paying higher prices hasn’t stopped Australians from drinking, they’ve just found clever ways to get pissed in a cost effective fashion.
Australia has fantastic third spaces in the form of public parks and they are the perfect place to consume ten standard drinks with your nearest and dearest.
“We’ll still probably go to the pub after this to be fair”
“But there’s definitely huge savings still, I won’t need quite as many pints now that I’ve had eight cans,” he laughed.
More to come.
