THE BED IS MADE: The Farrer By-Election is heating up, as the cultural fault-lines in Australia's fractured right-wing begin transforming into volcanic eruptions.
The fight for the rural NSW electorate is currently a neck and neck race between the community-backed Independent Michelle Milthorpe and the controversial One Nation candidate David Farley.
The major parties are not tipped to get anywhere near winning this seat - with Labor choosing to not even run a candidate because it would be funnier to watch their opponents squabble and turn on each other.
However, Coalition heavyweights are still on the ground, trying their best to hold onto Farrer.
But what they didn't expect was to experience extreme hostility from the newly activated One Nation base, many of whom were jaded right-wing voters who jumped across to the far-right minor party because they were essentially led there by two decades of low-effort culture wars from a Federal Coalition who recklessly redlined the limits of unhinged political discourse until the Australian right-wing collapsed.
The far-right Frankenstein that is One Nation, which the Liberals have previously treated as 'the lesser evil' in Federal Politics, has this week confronted the Coalition face to face - and it's not pretty.
Liberal Senator and Shadow Defence Minister James Paterson says he was assaulted during a scuffle with a One Nation volunteer at a poll booth in the electorate of Farrer yesterday, after realising that his relentless shit-stirring has created a volatile political environment where anyone but the most fringe populists are considered THE ENEMY.
The melee came as Paterson made the point that the One Nation candidate David Farley had previously attempted to join Labor.
However, while Paterson may seem to think he made a valid argument - using facts - it appears lost on him that none of that shit matters anymore in Australian politics.
Because all trust in our political institutions has been shattered by the disinformation and relentless culture wars that have been mainlined into the minds of low information voters through the Liberal Party's out-of-control propaganda arm known as Sky News.
