The Prime Minister has had to rain on New Zealand’s parade today and hose down speculation that Australia and the popular archipelago are planning to form a travel bubble.

“The risk is just too much,” said Scott Morrison today in Canberra.

“There’s over a dozen new cases in New Zealand today and only a handful in Australia, aside from Victoria. I’ve spoken Jacinda Ardern today and had to break the news to her,”

“Jacinda wasn’t very pleased and asked me to reconsider but I have to put the safety and wellbeing of Australians first. New Zealand needs to get a handle on their most recent outbreak before we can head back to the negotiating table,”

“Such a shame.”

The Advocate reached out to the Office of the New Zealand Prime Minister for comment but have yet to receive a reply.
