Australian heart-throb and one-time sexy action movie star, Russell Crowe has today been snapped on set of his new upcoming Hollywood epic.

After years of playing cops, spies, and gladiators – Rusty has today revealed his delight in being able to finally play his dream role of iconic suburban Australian patriarch, Harold Bishop.

The movie, currently titled ‘The Ramsay Street Pantsman’ is a spin-off biopic that explores the hypersexual and macho sub-plot of the grandfatherly Neighbours character.

The Oscar-winner was reported to have put on 70-85 kilograms to play the role, effectively doubling his BMI.

“I’m very [puffs heavily] excited” said Russell, during a press conference outside the Old Fitz Hotel in Woolloomooloo today.

“It’s [puffs] been a gotdam dream of mine since I was [puff] a little boy”

This marks the first time Rusty will play an Australian character since The Water Diviner, and the first time he played a villain.

“Harold is not so much of a villain in the TV series. [Puffs] But this movie zooms in on his dark vices – not often seen in the 6:30 broadcast.

“He was a sick puppy man”

It is believed the Hollywood star’s confidante, former Manly and Souths rugby league hardman Spudd Carroll will dabble in acting for the first time in the role of Harold’s best friend and occassional nemesis, Lou.

Jonah Hill is believed to have beaten Ryan Moloney to the role of Toadie.
