Some worthless son of a couple of Eastern Suburbs movers and shakers has offered up his parents’ gaff to his equally morally handicapped mates for the NRL Grand Final this Sunday.
Rohan Puck, a 27-year-old stay-at-home son from one of those Sydney beach suburbs that’s not Bondi or Cronulla but adjacent to one of them, took to a group chat this afternoon to make the blanket invite.
“Boys. Mine Sunday. Huge screen. Old man’s away. Bring whoever, just no randoms,” wrote Puck.
The lifelong, long-suffering Roosters tragic, who rediscovers his passion for rugby league each Septemeber, has already asked whether Newcastle gets rugby league like the Roosters do.
“Always respected the Knights,” he said.
“Proper working-class club. Our gardener’s actually from up there. Or Wollongong. Same sort of thing.”
Guests have been instructed to bring their own drinks, not wanted a repeat of last time when Puck's father flogged him around the house with a set of jumper cables for getting into his good wine, while his friends watched in horror.
The afternoon will feature sixteen blokes, including two Hugos, a day-old grazing table from his sister's baby shower, and one girlfriend quietly trying to establish whether any other girlfriends are coming or not.
"BYO beers, babes, bags," Puck added.
"Also nobody touch my Dad's Grange, I don't want to get the jumper cables again."
More to come.
