A rather meek plea to settle a late-night debt has this morning been promptly dismissed by the group chat.
Josh Evans reportedly finished his evening of drinking and dancing on a rather generous note by including his mates in his Uber back from the french quarter to the Heights, where they all reside.
While Evans does recall telling the boys that he had “got it covered this time”, he was left in a state of extreme shock after checking his bank account this morning and realising just how much he had spent during the night, leaving him with little choice but to request a reimbursement after all.
“Look, I worked a bit of overtime this week and figured I’d have a bit more funds than usual in the bank, so I wanted to treat my mates to a free trip home," the 21-year-old told our reporter.
“But fuck me, it looks like I was buying the whole joint drinks from my transaction history.”
“I’m just praying they don’t remember me saying I’d shout it.”
Evans’ mates Tom and Ryan were spotted enjoying a cafe breakfast earlier this morning and, when questioned by The Advocate, appeared to remember their friend’s promise very well.
“You can’t go back on your word like that," Tom commented.
“Is it also not just common courtesy to get the Uber home after spilling an entire vodka Red Bull on your mate?”
“Yeah no way I’m paying him back," Ryan added.
“Probably owes me a beer anyways from here or there.”
