A recent poll has revealed that we really need a feel-good multilingual world cup song that falls under the genre of "world music".
Pressure is mounting for Shakira to find an artist from Africa, Latin America or even the Middle East, to link up with and make an absolute banger with to bring the world together.
"Yeah, a Shakira song alongside a world cup like Hips Don't Lie during the 2006 tournament or Waka Waka for the 2010 cup would really lower the temperature right now" explained Thomas Muller (39) a cultural analyst from Germany.
With global temperature at an all time high, both literally and figuratively, calls are growing for a corporate overly positive world cup song preferably sponsored by Coca-Cola.
Experts say the formula is relatively simple, requiring a vaguely inspirational chorus, a couple of verses in different languages, and a vibe that feels just ethnic enough to be taken seriously but not enough to confuse Western audiences.
“There needs to be at least one line about unity, one about the world dancing, and some very politically palatable references to refugee rights” the analyst added.
Fans have also stressed the importance of an accompanying music video featuring children from different corners of the globe playing soccer barefoot, flags, and at least three wide shots of a stadium crowd jumping in sync.
While no official announcement has been made, insiders say executives are monitoring the situation closely, ready to deploy Shakira at a moment’s notice should global morale dip any further.
