The overwhelming majority of the nation is grimacing at the looming prospect of another rate rise this afternoon.
For those who owe money to the bank, or pay money to someone who own's their dwelling, or are reliant on people spending disposable income to keep their business afloat - the rate hike is another hefty blow to the body.
Unfortunately, for those struggling to keep a roof over their head or put food in their kids bellies, rates simply need to go up, because the magic excel spreadsheet numbers of our nation's economists just aren't doing what they want.
While the little boys overseas starting wars on behalf of the military industrial complex and the corporate profiteering of our own major companies are the reason behind the inflation, normal people need to stop spending money they don't really have, to keep things on the straight and narrow.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers has confirmed that Australians shouldn't be punished for the war in Iran, which is really nice and comforting despite the fact it's come without any new measures from the government to control the economy and slow down inflation.
Those nice words aren't set to bring much immediate relief to the 15 year high for the cash rate, but it's hoped the Houthis may walk away from the global fuel supply pinch points, and the Donald Trump will consider putting his hand up, apologising, and ending the war with Iran as a result of Chalmers' comments.
More to come.
