A couple of maligned sectors of society have today hit out at the Federal Opposition.
Advocacy groups the Clown Shows Association of Australia (CSAA) and the Betoota Rabble Rousers (BRR) have slammed the Coalition, for what they say is a constant besmirching of their name.
"Mate, we are fucking over it to be completely honest," said Krusty Pennywise, the head of the CSAA.
"Clown shows, and clowns more generally, have to put up with a hell of a lot of shit already, and now constantly having our name dragged through the mud as a cheap punchline for political journalists short on figures of speech is the red nose on top."
"You try dealing with an unruly bunch of 8-year-olds in a cramped suburban backyard."
"They'd make the likes of Barnaby Joyce, Matt Canavan and Andrew Hastie look like a walk in the park."
"So, together with the rabble rousers of Australia, we are asking for people to stop comparing us to the federal Coalition."
Speaking to The Advocate from the front of Betoota Council Chambers ahead of a protest regarding the new swimming pool in Betoota Ponds, the Secretary of the BRR Grahame Henry said he's had it up to here.
"Same as the clowns," he said angrily.
"We cop it from everyone for causing trouble, and now we have to read about shit that has nothing to do with us in the headlines every single day."
"At least this group are trying to achieve something, not just blow it all up."
More to come.
