It can be confirmed that anyone confused by the behaviour of Wicked stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have never attended or witnessed what happens in drama classes.
The two stars have found themselves back in the spotlight again as part of their promotional tour for ‘Wicked for good’, which has seen the pair return to their ‘unusual’ behaviour of constantly touching one another, speaking in unison and seemingly sharing some sort of psychosis.
Though this behaviour has raised eyebrows world wide and prompted countless internet discussions about the state of their mental health, anyone who’s ever been a theatre kid or near one, knows this is exactly the kind of behaviour you can expect between two drama nerds who’ve spent a great deal of time together.
Speaking to Dana Pestle, drama teacher from Betoota Polytechnic’s acting department, The Advocate learns that Grande and Erivo are only considered weird to normies.
“What people tend to forget is that actors are just famous theatre kids”, explains Pestle, “and theatre kids are fucking weird.”
“They're extremely tactile creatures who are prone to loud noises, exaggeration, and talking about their feelings."
Showing our reporter an interview where Grande and Erivo are seen holding each other’s hands the entire time, Pestle explains that this is pretty much default theatre kid behaviour.
"This here, is just the adult version of those girls who can’t sit through a class without braiding each other’s hair and giving back scratches.”
"This is entirely normal.”
More to come.
