The Prime Minister has been able to enjoy a rare night off at the Australia Open this weekend because there is no Opposition anymore to tell him he shouldn't.
Pictured sitting in the Chairman's Suite in a hand-cut three-piece suit that'd make anything in Malcolm Turnbull's wardrobe look like a Tarocash wedding banger, Anthony Albanese seemed relaxed under a top hat as he slammed Sydney Rock after Sydney Rock and washed it down with a glass of real champagne.
Speaking of his time at the tennis watching the great Novak Djokovic take on the Roman Ranga in the semis, Albanese said it's something he usually wouldn't get to do.
"Nah, it was a bit of fun, uh, I guess," he said.
"Not every day you get to sit in the big boy box with Dickie Pratt's boy, whatever his name is, good bloke, anyway. It's good, I fucken love going down to Melbourne. They do events right. Good pubs, not that I get to go to any anymore more. Those days are gone. I miss the pub. As a lifelong public servant, I've been in a few, don't you worry,"
"Yeah nah but the suit was nice to wear. Comfy. Tell you what but, I'm not much of a champagne guy, I reckon it tastes like shit but it's free so fucking why not, ey?"
When asked why he chose to ditch his usual ill-fitting polo short and $19 chinos, the Prime Minister laughed and narrowed his eyes.
"Because I fucken can, who's going to stop me? Ms Ley? That big stack of blue blood brumby shit Angus? Come on," he said.
"No tell me? Is it David Littleproud? Is it Pauline, Barnaby and Jacinta? Actually, forget I said Jacinta, they haven't done the press release yet. Don't want to ruin it for them."
