As the nation prepares for yet another fucked up heatwave, it can be confirmed that it is not all bad news.

Particularly for one local news editor, preparing for another big day in the confines of his air-conditioned workplace.

Riley Simpson (31), the online editor of Betoota's Daily Herald has revealed to The Advocate that he's one of the only blokes in the country who actually loves a heatwave.

"Yeah look, as a young fit man who lives in a house with aircon and works in an office with aircon, heatwaves don't really affect me that much," revealed Simpson, as parts of the country prepare to swelter through 50 degrees.

"But what it does mean, is I get to browse photos of hot chicks at the beach, and pick which ones I want to load up onto our website."

Simpson explained that per the click and engagement based metrics used by his team, photos of women at the beach often chart quite well.

And given the heatwave conditions, people tend to associate heat with the beach.

"Yeah it's one of the best parts of the job," he laughed.

"Along with just picking a tweet or Facebook comment I like and then using it as the basis for a news story."

"The chick I'm going with today is an absolute smokeshow bro."

"Took some real dedication to the craft to narrow down my shortlist."

"It's tough work, but someone's gotta do it," he laughed.
