Pauline Hanson's One Nation are currently experiencing potentially disastrous speed wobbles in South Australia, as their campaign begins to fall apart two weeks out from the state election.
With the South Australian Liberal Party looking as useless as they are at a Federal level, One Nation had hoped to capitalise on the State Opposition's troubles by replacing them as the right-wing alternative.
However, it seems that Adelaide is a long way away from Ipswich, as Pauline Hanson's far-right brand of grievance-based politics begins to mutate into a weird and unfamiliar beast.
Pauline Hanson's decision to recruit the irrelevant former Liberal Senator Corey Bernardi as One Nation's state leader may have been unwise - after a recent clanger that he doesn't appear to be backing down from.
Bernardi, who is now attempting to re-enter politics through his third political party, has faced feirce criticism right across the political spectrum for comparing homosexuality to 'beastiality'.
It was a comment that Bernardi made during the 2017 Marriage Equality Plebescite when he was working tirelessly to destroy his own party's leadership under Malcolm Turnbull, but nobody thought he would still be willing to double down on such views nearly ten years later.
But this is exactly what he did yesterday,
One independent South Australian senator was quick to condemn Bernardi's weird and extremely homophobic comments - deciding only one word was appropriate to describe the man and his views.
“There is a special Greek word for people like Cory Bernardi and the repugnant and vile views that he has shared and that word is malaka,” said, Constadina 'Connie' Bonaros, leader of the Greek-heavy minor party SA Best.
Senator Bonaros, who was raised in between Adelaide's West and Coober Pedy, is about as Greek as South Australians get, and appears to have delivered a fatal blow to One Nation.
Overnight the Adelaide suburbs of Welland, Torrensville, Mile End, Hilton and Thebarton became unwinnable for One Nation.
Pauline Hanson is believed to be furious with Bernardi for veering from the One Nation talking points, which is to specifically vilify Muslims and Indians, rather than homosexuals - which in turn has earned them the furious wrath of the Greeks.
