Shadow Treasurer Malcolm Roberts has released One Nation's first economic policy this afternoon as the Reserve Bank raised interest rates in the face of a mounting issue with inflation.
Across the political spectrum, the issue of inflation sits at the forefront of policy and One Nation is no different, according to Roberts.
While other parties see spending as the root cause of the growing inflation crisis, whether it be government or overweight, grey-haired bastards, One Nation sees the problem differently.
"It's a shapeshifting lizard, who is evil and gay," explain Roberts, his glasses now perched on the tip on his nose.
"I have empirical evidence of it. And this lizard has taken the shape of Jim Chalmers, who is now doing things that create inflation. Things such as spending government money recklessly and without accountability. You see, this is where the problem lies and we need to do something about it."
Without the preferences of the major parties, the likelihood of One Nation being able to form a meaningful block of seats in the next Parliament remains slim while the fracturing of the centre-right party will only drive Labor's mandate even higher.
This is also the evil gay lizard's doing, according to Roberts.
"Should One Nation win government, we will not rest until the real Jim Chalmers is discovered. We think he is somewhere in deep space at the moment. I want him to do an MRI and publish the results on his Truth Social so we can see the lizard inside him for once and for all," he added.
"We are determined to find the truth."
