The NRL is already experiencing a big jump in potential brain-injury-causing tackles this week, as the players warm up the shoulders for the first ever ‘Who Can Get On House Of Highlights Round’.

Starting with the Rabbitohs V Roosters showdown at ANZ stadium last night, where Roosters enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves got himself ruled out of the finals after being charged for a brutal tackle on Liam Knight, resulting in a squished brain and a distressing few minutes of full blown concussion.

Tetevano was put on report for smashing Souths fullback Adam Doueihi without the ball in the lead up to a Cory Walkers try, in the bloody match that finished 16-10 to the Bunnies.

The ‘Who Can Get On House Of Highlights Round’ looks to be one of the most violent weekends in rugby league this year, as the player do their very best to go viral in America.

This comes as US social media sports powerhouse House of Highlights picked Jorge Taufua’s monstrous hit on Cameron Munster during the Manly versus Melbourne game at Brookvale last week, posting it to Instagram where it shot past two million views, with more than 400,000 likes.

House of Highlights has more than 14 million Instagram followers with comments from NBA players JR Smith, who commented “Damn.” and Bradley Beal who posted “NOOOOOO.”

NRL CEO says this is great marketing for the game, and have even considered doing what the NBA does and just removing all copyright from highlight footage – in an effort to delicately explain to Americans the difference between rugby league and union.

“I reckon it’s awesome”

“Hopefully the boys are out for blood this weekend. This is the best marketing we can get, outside of the upcoming Mad Monday celebrations of course”

With Manly facing the Eels at Parramatta tonight, rugby league fans can lick their lips in preparation for another electrocuting Taufua hit and many more to come over the weekend.
