A young family from our peri-urban sprawl of Betoota Plains have today confirmed to The Advocate that they are LOVING the state of the world right now.

With the war in Iran and the Middle East dragging on, despite promises from the President of the United States that it would be over quick smart, the Thompson-Bartlett's are preparing to empty their bank accounts even faster.

"Nah it's awesome aye," said Brett Thompson-Bartlett, the father of two young kids.

"I love that decades of climate wars mean we've done nowhere near enough to sure up our energy security."

"And that we've done nothing to mitigate the commercial decisions by the free market to shut our oil refineries, so the old men screaming at clouds about renewables being witchcraft means we now are fucked on all fronts when a war on the other side of the planet kicks off."

"So the Reserve Bank has no option but to lift interest rates to curb inflation, so we pay more money to the bank and live tougher so the magic numbers for our economists do what they want."

"We won't even touch on the banks raising the cash rate on borrowing much quicker than they raise it on savings..."

"But it's just generally awesome that this country seems to have no other way to curb inflation other than making people cough up more to the bank, so enough people who don't really have money, stop spending money."
