The Monday morning currently afflicting the nation has come with a silver lining, it can be confirmed.
In some breaking news from job sites, retail stores, medical institutions, offices and other places of employment - it is the first day of the last month of the year.
While mangoes have been on the shelves for a quite some time now, the first day of December is always another significant milestone.
For many in offices, it's a sign that things are essentially done for the year, while for tradies it means it's all systems go, but not for much longer.
For those in the places like the health system it doesn't mean as much, but that some well-paying shifts and missed time with the family is just around the corner.
"Yeah, nearly another spin around the big ball of fire done and dusted," said Kaiden Cunningham, a rapidly ageing Betoota Heights plumber whose mind is already in Noosa.
"She's full noise right, but we are nearly at tools down."
"How good."
Speaking to our reporter from his lounge room, local officer worker Hugh Himmington echoed those sentiments.
"I'll probably go into the office like another 2 times this year I reckon."
"Cricket starts Thursday too."
"Thanks for coming."
Ashley Timmins, a paediatric nurse at Royal Betoota Base Hospital said she's also glad it's December.
"Yeah I've still got work over the Christmas break, but I've got the big day off this year which is nice."
More to come.
